?'s On Setting Up Wireless Network

I have a few questions on setting up a wireless network.

I already have a wired network with a DSL modem as internet connection that is hooked to a simple 4-Port Broadband Router. There a are 3 computers hooked to the router. One of them being a laptop.

If I want to set up a wireless network so I can take my laptop anywhere in my house and surf the web, (I know I will have to get a wireless PC card for my old laptop) than will I need a Wireless Router or just a Wireless Access Point?

Thanks,

I would get a wireless router and just replace the one you are using now. The wrls router will still have hard wire ports on the back for your desktops. I like Dlink and Linksys the best, but that's just a personal opinion. The one he recomended above is a good idea. Make sure you secure it correctly or you could have people stealing your internet.

It's very simple, all you need to do is replace your current router with a 4-Port wireless router.

And yes, the router will work with a Mac, as long as the Mac supports the routers standard (802.11g for instance).

So the wired part will work with Mac too even if the router doesn't say anything about Macs? Because the mac is one of my desktop computers.
