selling dell computer

is it ok to sell a dell computer? someone told me that for dell computer, you shouldnt sell it or anything because its registered under my name in the company. so if anything happens or if they try to do something with the computer, and they check with the dell company that it will say that the computer is under my name, address, etc. Also because the dell computer has those stickers on the side with the customer numbers that are connected to my information.

can i simply take off the stickers and erase everything and sell the computer?
 
You can take off the stickers, but I don't reccomend it. If you sell a Dell, you just need to contact Dell and make sure they transfer the product serial numbers to the new person. It's really easy, I did it when I bought my Dell Axim from ebay.
 
but when i bought the computer they asked me if i was going to sell the computer in the future and i said no. would that conflict with it or anything?


EDIT: also i wanted to know is there anywhere on the computer where to can see the stats/information about my computer so if i sell it online i can just copy and paste all of the information onto the web.
 
What the hell...I would just sell it.

Its your computer and you paid for it so you can do what you want with it.

I would anyway and have done in the past with computers.
 
no, no one is going to tell me that i cant sell my pc. im trying to figure out if its okay if i sell a dell computer because the computer is... [registered?] into the computer under my information so would they contact me about the computer for any reason after its gone or anything? im basically trying to figure out if i can just remove the computer from under my name/information in the dell company... its hard to explain.

im thinking ill just try to sell it without any dell involvement..
 
Yeah just go ahead and sell it,

I shoudnt think they will contact you,I think the registration is just incase you phone them with an Enquiry or need a problem solving then they will know who you are and what type/Model of dell you purchased off them so its easier for them to help you.

My Hp is registred and they have never contacted me in the 3 years ive had it.

Like I said, you don't need to tell Dell that you've sold the computer, but if the person who you sell the computer to needs tech support from Dell, Dell will tell them that they need to transfer ownership before they can help them.

As for your other question, right click on "my computer" and click "properties".
 
those system properties? theres no where else i can get all the information about the motherboard, drive, RAM, etc together in a list?
