so i installed nfs carbon in my pc and when i ran it, the graphics were all messed up, like a blurry grey square is in place of a mouse and all letters are also covered with similar grey patches, at the time of the intro video the screen is grey, and when i reach the menu, i can just see the outline of a car but the rest of the menu is lost in a grey world. . . .

i have a Nvidia Geforce2 MX/MX 400 64 mb card. . . .

What to do ?

Is that card even one of the compatible models? I had that card, and I would be surprised if it could handle that game... (Especially since it was originally designed for DirectX 7 at most, and probably a lot of those textures in the game were not in 7 or any previous DirectX version.)

these are the minimum requirements for the game i believe, i do have directx 9.0c also installed . .

64MB DirectX 9.0c compatible video card (NVIDIA Geforce4 Ti/ATI Radeon 8500 or higher) using a
supported chipset

I think nfs: carbon needs a video card with pixel shader 1.1

The geforce 2 and geforce 4MX will not run it because they don't support pixel shader 1.1

Farcry minimum video requirement:
Minimum: DirectX 9.0b compliant video card with 64 MB RAM (GeForce2+ / Radeon 8500+)

Crysis:
Graphics: Nvidia 6600/X800GTO (SM 2.0)

Crysis is the sequel to Farcry... please tell me that your not saying that just cause you can play one game that you can play all games..

You should upgrade your computer (basically build a new one), yours is too old to play that game.

ok ya i get it, i knew my video card wasnt very good but i was gettin on fine playin all the latest games with their graphics settings turned down, finished cod2 a while back and it was running fine, i even played Doom 3 on this card, with every available graphic setting turned to low or off !! but i guess my card finally met its match with carbon. . .

Before you get a new card just try to update your video card driver to latest version form nvidia website, and then just try to run carbon, and see what happens

It wont hurt to try different driver versions. Your card is way below spec and I would not expect too much.
