Well I need a new cpu this pentium 4 is really getting old and slow so I need something like this it needs to be able to mulitask since I do that a bunch specificaly like burning a dvd, watching a movie, and surfing the web at the same time. Also it needs to able to play games really well while burning a dvd. Oh and last it would be nice if the cpu could burn a dvd in less than an hour. Dont care if its amd or intel just the best cpu for about a 250 dollars and a cheap motherboard to go with it.

btw is there a mobo that has an agp and pci-express both since i want to keep my agp card and upgrade later when atis dx10 card comes out

I dont think so... Get a cheap PCIe card now and upgrade later. For you an AMD X2 4200+ should be the best!

ASRock sells motherboards with both PCI-E and AGP, as well as DDR and DDR2, for the latest Intel and AMD platforms. Thats what i'm using with my C2D at the moment.

I would wait and do my homework. You can end up spending twice as much in the long run cutting corners. Sit down, determine exactly what you want, and present your idea to the forum. You'll get better advice that way. Good luck.
