Hey, i was just wondering if installing a clean fresh install of XP onto a SATA hdd is any different to doing it to and IDE one? its just i have heard that its a bit different...
Thanks
Some motherboard still require installing the SATA controller driver at the f6 prompt when installing Windows even if you aren't using raid. My Asus board requires it when not using raid. When you go to install windows and the system doesn't recognize a hard drive then you will have to install the SATA driver from a floppy at the F6 prompt at the beginning of Windows installation.
