My games have low fps but they shouldnt

First of all i say hi to all ppl. Lamila rcemoneded me this site.
Here is my problem:
My games like Hitman blood money, Oblivion and Matrix Path of Neo have really low fps like 0 or under zero. I have good PC.
ATI Radeon X1600 with 512 MB
1 GB of RAM
Intel Pentium 2.5 Ghz
Windows XP SP2
DirectX 9.0c
Latest graphic card drivers.
So can someone help me please. My friend can play Hitman blood money with 50 fps and he has weaker PC than me. He has:
ATI Radeon X1600 with 258 MB
512 RAM
Intel pentium 2.2 GHZ
Windows XP SP2
DirectX 9.0c
Latest graphic card drivers.
please I need help :(
 
How can you have 0 or less than 0 FPS? Do you mean it just gets pretty low? And do you have the settings maced out?

He told me he "guesses" his fps. I already told him to use www.fraps.com to see his FPS. He will probably edit it with his realy FPS in a second.
 
You can't have under 0 FPS :)

Even though your computer is decent, Oblivion is a very graphics intensive game, and it even cripples high end systems.
 
just a question... did the pc always do that, or did it just started?
If it just tharted, what did you do before that happened? if it always was like that.. do you gave the grafic's cards drivers installed?

edit: also, if yu have the drivers installed etc... make sure you havnt set anti aliassing and anisotrophic filtering set to max or so in the drivers (make sure its application controlled)

I was useing fraps I wasnt guessing. FPS was from 7 to 15. But before I was on this forums I guessed and i was right

I didnt have this problem untill I installed Hitman Blood money cuz before i played old games and I will try that with drivers

I would say you were wrong... You guessed 0 and below (with below is not possible and 0 would be frozen)

Have you tried removing hitman blood money to see if your other games returned to normal? I'm having a hard time understanding why installing that game would effect other games.

I suggest running routine maintenance, defrag, remove spyware etc.
 
Lol I mean there isnt problem with other games exepct Oblivion, Matrix and BM. There is no problem untill I installed those games. I mean I didnt have that problem cuz i didnt have those games

Ahhh well that is different :). I do not have any experience with 2 of those games but Oblivion should run somewhat slow on your PC. It requires allot of power. Your PC is far from shabby but still... the game is not going to run super quick either.

As always I suggest updating all drivers... Video, sound, direct X etc. Update your games with the latest patches. If none of that brings up the frame rates to more respectable levels then perhaps there is something else going on.

Processor - 1 x Intel Pentium D 940 3.2 GHz ( 800 MHz ) Dual-Core - LGA775 Socket - L2 4 MB ( 2 x 2 MB ) - Box (BTX Type I)
and do I need 1 more GB of RAM?

i would recommend an Intel Core 2 Duo E6300... it's better than that 940 and it's cheaper... and i would say that 2GB is a safe bet for RAM amount...
