Media Centre?

Hey all i got a dual-core laptop and it came with media centre 2005, i tried to reformat it with a disc i downloaded, i used the code of the sticker but it didnt work, the sticker reads "DSG Retail Limited". So obviously i need a different disc..But what should i look for if im downloading it of the web?

Umm i have to ask... did you download this illegally? if so, read the Forum Rules. If not, then i dont know what your problem is.

Well, its not illegal is it?, i used the original code of my sticker on the laptop.

It is not illegal, but you cannot use that key again if you format your computer, you need to buy a new key.

No its not that, and i should be able to use this key again and again. Like with my desktop which is home edition, only after like 4 activations i have to phone up to activate...The thing is that it doesnt accept the key at all, so i cant even set windows up.Im sure there must be like a media centre 2005 dsg retail limited edition like when you get xp ome,corp ect

You bought this laptop from either Dixons, Currys or PC World; just take the laptop back to them and explain what the problem is and they will re-install the OS for you, free of charge.
I know this as I worked in the PC World PC Clinic

DSG Limited are the owners and operators of PC World, The Link, Dixons, Currys and so on..

So microsoft make the os with a different serial for DSG?, thats why the downloaded versions dont work?
