help help need help with new comp!

need help please! Im a noob so these questions are probably stupid, but I cant get my sound to work, and why does a messgae randomly pop up saying program has become unresponsive end now? Ill be using the internet and it just randomly pops up. also how do I find system restore? my comp is brand new only have had it set up for a few hours so i wanna make a restore point.
 
First off, what sound card do you have? Are you sure you have sounds enabled correctly in your control panel? Do you have the speakers plugged in correctly, and the volume up?

As for the unresponcive, Ive never seen that before. But most likly its saying a program your using has frozen, you need to restart the program, or stop what ever is causing it to freeze. Like if its internet explorer that is freezing, it might be because your trying to view a web page that has flash and you dont have flash drivers. Do you have the latest version of IE? (Or whatever program you use)

System restore is also in your control panel.
Start>control panel>perfomance and maintenance, and it says "system restore" on the left hand side of box. under the "see also". Just click it, and Ill assume you know how to creat a restore point. ;)
 
i would try and download the right drivers for you sound card... that's probably your problem... as for the IE error, try running some spyware removing utilities...

that's not a very good reason, unless it hasn't been connected to the internet :P...

anyways, did you build it yourself? or is it a pre-built model?
 
bought it. Help me. disk tray wont open! and no sound. Im prety desperate this is my brand new computer I havent messed with anything, so it should be working. I have a sound blaster audigy 2z s.
