Excellent choices...although I do have a few recommendations.

I would personally go with a Western Digital drive instead of a Hitachi drive...WD's, IMO, are the best.

Do you have a power supply?

Okay ill take you up on your hd recomendation. As for the power supply it is listed as coming with a standard 480 watt power supply.

Truee i only picked that vid card cause of the HDMI feature. Im goin to be getting a monitor with hdmi inputs and i figured i should have a video card that is capabel of it too. As for building it myself, I have never done this before and a bit nervous as to doing it myself. How hard is it really? The price for the package shipped is $1650 how much would it be shipped if i built it myself?

It would probably be 250-400$ cheaper, I would do it for you, but I have homework I should be doing, for the price you could get the E6600, and someother better things.

e6400- $218
MOBO-182$
RAM-200$ (give or take a little)
HDD-170$
CD roms (60$ about)
Floppy (less the 10$)
xp home 90$
parts have 3 year warrenty
case prob-$120 with powersupply
Video card 160$

total about (did it quick)

1210$$

diffrence of about 450$!!!!!

Honestly there it's not that hard, you can always ask questions and there are a ton of guides, just follow the motherboard book and you'll be fine.

I'm currently building my first one too, and it's really not that hard. And plus if you get lost, this website is like God. of course some computer background knowledge is great, I mean i've been installing upgrades for years, i've jsut never built an entire system.

The quote of the day just for shits and giggles:

"Building a computer is like riding a bike. You just have to let go of the fear and do it." :P

The most important thing is to remain patient and take the easy and necessary precautions and have the proper space and setup. It is rather easy though.

I doubt you will run into any trouble, if you do ask here, if we can't help you, you could probably bring to compusa, bestbuy, or any smaller computer store.

Ehhh. i was about to order the parts and the total was $1447 on new egg as opossed to $1659 prebuilt and tested. Is it really worth the $220 difference to build myself??
