can i used this to hook up a vga box to my lcd monitor

As you look at the dvi to vga adapter there take note of the top plug seein. That is the standard vga male seen on the end of monitor cables. The bottom is the female dvi input connector. The model Acer monitor in you signature has a DVI-D type connector as well as the standard analog vga plug. You would need a dvi to analog signal converter with that adapter. The specifications on your monitor can be seen at http://us.acer.com/acereuro/page9.d...aram=US&LanguageISOCtxParam=en&crc=3355056940

You don't need any special converter for NTSC/PAL or a digital to analog converter. As long as you hae the "vga box" for your PS2, the rest should just work.

So you are trying to play PS2 on your LCD monitor? You can either have the VGA or DVI connector connected to an adaptor like this. Or, you can have a video card that has VIVO, and you can run the PS2 into your computer and then display that onto your LCD montior.

Doesn't say anything about DVI because it doesn't have it :P But any basic converter should work. VGA from your computer to the input on the device(VGA) Then output(VGA converted to DVI) to your LCD(DVI) You could probably use a converter from your video card, or purchase a VGA to DVI cable.

i was thinking about getting this but it doesnt say anything about dvi on it

That's for S-Video or composite input for display on a vga source there. That would be for something more like a vhs or s-video output from a camcorder for display there. What you would be far better off with is something like the VGA BOX for PS2 seen at http://www.buynshop.com/productinfophp3/VG-VGA-BOXA
