It is a prebuilt eMachine but I upgraded the video card & RAM, and after experiencing some problems I decided to get a new PSU. I found two but I don't know which is good.

I'm looking for a good PSU, not expensive, around 400 watts. I looked at the PSU 101 thread, did some searching and found these two. I just can't decide which to get. I don't plan on further upgrading this computer, maybe another hard drive, for another year or two. Then I'll make my own. I just don't know if I should get the one with more connectors with less amps(I think that's what it's called) or the other way around. I need some suggestions. Feel free to post better one's, but not too expensive.

Thanks.

Since the fan is on top, wouldn't that mean I need an open spot on top so the air can flow out?

It looks like the fan is on top because they took a pic of the PSU upside down. When you mount it the fan will be facing down and sucking air in.

Alright, thanks. I guess that PSU is out of the question because I don't have an open area underneath the PSU holder, or am I wrong?

I have an Aspire ATX-AS520W-BK that I could sell to you for $30 plus shipping ($8 within USA). For a power supply with a fan on top you can mount it right side up or upside down (doesn't matter) so the fan is exposed.

Reason I have it for sale is because I wanted a power supply that was modular so I got the X2 Connect.

The Aspire still runs fine after months of use.

Could you clarify this a little? What do you have that would block it?

I don't know if I can take it off or it's part of the PSU, but here is a picture of it.

I'll think about it.

EDIT: I don't want to make a new thread for this. I used speedfan and it says I have 124 degrees celsius for remote 2. Can someone tell me what remote 2 is and how I can get the temp. down?

You can use a PSU with a 120mm fan such as the XClio I mentioned earlier without any problems. As for the temps, that looks like a bad reading :).

It does matter - the screw holes are positioned so it will only go in one way.

Alright, thanks for clearing those two things up. The 124 degrees scared the crap out of me and was wonder what was so hot.

I think I am going to buy the XClio PSU because it seems better in the long run, read some reviews, and has a 120mm fan which, I think, is one of the good things.

EDIT: Quick question. Is it "ok" temperature for the video card to be idling around 55 degrees celsius?
