I have run Belarc advisor which tells me I have two populated DIMM slots with a toal of 512mb RAM which is true. However, it also tells me I have a third DIMM Slot where I planned to plug an additional 256mb SIM - but there is no third slot I can find? Is this hidden somewhere?

I can't find anything on that model...is it a laptop or desktop? My laptop actually has two RAM slots, but only one is available. The other is apparently on board somewhere for the manufacturer to add RAM. Of course, Averatec never did so you're limited to only 1GG in this system

It is a Desktop machine:
Compaq Presario 5432 EA 470030-412 Model 1
The Motherboard is deffo a Compaq 073Ch

It was an end of life product just around the time Compaq and HP merged.

I can't get the 768Mb I want !!!

Any clues?
