Hi - I currently have HIS X800GTO 500/1000 , so I was thinking of a little upgrade for the Christmas
Budget is pretty tight but I found these 3 cards :

-ATI Sapphire X1950PRO 580/1600 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814102070

-ATI HIS X1950PRO 620/1480 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814161043

-Nvidia XFX 7900GS EXTREME 600/1600 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814150209

The 7900GS has 20Pipelines but I don't know if that's the deciding factor

Suggestions Appreciated

A friend of mine has the ATI HIS X1950PRO 620/1480 and it runs pretty nicely , but I don't know how it runs compared to the other 2.

ya
the thing is that nVidia cards have more pipelines but ATI's have thoz Pixel shader processors
So I'm a bit confused here with the performance.
Which is better ? 12pipelines(36 Pixel shader processor) or 20pipe lines ???

Both of the ATI's should outperform that NVidia... As for the two, I would go with the Sapphire one, just because they are fairly similar in performance and the Sapphire's $20 cheaper...

Ty for the reply
I'd actually go with the HIS cuz there's that mail in rebate so it comes down to the same exact price

X1950pro is a little better than 7900GS at stock speeds

But the XFX 7900GS Extreme is heavily overclocked, so it must perform on par or a little better than X1900pro

The stock 7900GS is only 450/1320, but the XFX Extreme is 600/1600

Personally I would get XFX 7900GS

EDIT: and for exactly the same price of ATI HIS X1950PRO, you can get 512MB BFG 7950GT
