cuttin' slots.

In my case, directly behind my intake fan, theres hdd slots, i dont see my self having more then 2 hdd's.
and its on the bottom, and most the slots are aluminum so easy to cut threw.
whats your feedback on taking a dremel and cutting off the top part of the slots.

oh and of course removing components in the surrounding area.

ill give it a day before i try, so i can map stuff out.
and make sure, like you said make sure it wont be needed.

if your going to do that don't just take out components in the "surrounding area" take all of them out, and when you're done make sure ALL of the metal pieces and metal dust is out of the case. dont want a piece of metal to short out something and fry your board or something like that.
 
ah yes.
Well i have a mobo tray i think... i didnt use the tray when building, but i should take out the mobo and everything else attached will follow, then take out the graffix card, hdd, burner to be safe...
right?

and since, this was my first build.
Where would it all go? when out of the case.

put the mobo with the heatsink, cpu,ram ,gpu etc on the anti static bag the mobo came in, or if its all on the mobo tray just set it aside far from dust and clumsy people

and also, ill be transporting this to lan parties, so i was thinking for support.
i take out the parts, and add a little support with a filter, since my front grill has big diamond shapes in it.



the anti-static bag is... folded kinda in a box with screws.
does that matter?

Noticing my difficulties, i granted myself this week to prepare and lay stuff out, and hopefully, if i still go through with it, to do it on a saturday or sunday.
Iam going to look around the case, now.
maybe sketch stuff...

Trial and error is the way forward. If it doesn't work, you'll know that you need to make adjustments to your housing - and if it does fit, well, you've solved your problem!
 
I wouldnt remove the metal.. dont forget, that is actually a big part of the case's superstructure you would be removing. If you dont have any temperature issues.. dont do it, really. it wont get any better by it, and the case would just become much less stable.

I wouldnt really remove it, id remove it then make the center for less cluttered, then re attach it.
i noticed, the whole rack is mounted by screws.


so...

trial and error.
