How do you tell if an lcd monitor has a dead pixle or not? is it clearly visible? or do you need some sort of program to tell you if it has any?
A dead pixel on an lcd will stand out after a period of time when it remains a constant black spot while other colors are seen everywhere else. A single pixel will be a small square area not much over the size of the head of a pencil. That's a steady dead area of space on the monitor itself with no software designed for this. Manufacturers have their own diagnostic tools to see if a monitor is functional but not for dead pixels on the display itself.
If you can't see a deadpixel there probably isn't one...And if there is one and you can't see it, well consider yourself lucky![]()

thanks for that program, i'm gonna bookmark that incase i ever come across a bad display.
i've freaked out a few times before, only to find that my 'dead pixel' was nothing more than a flake of dust![]()
