Connecting 2 screens

Well I have one flat pc screen and one of the old big screens. Can I connect them both so I have 2? If so how would I go about doing so
 
Well depends if you want to have the same image on both the screens or split them in half. If your graphic card has 2 plug in slots then its easy. Or you can buy one of those screen routers but it will only allow you to have the same image on both of them
 
What grahpics card do you have? If you know that then you can figure out if it supports dual monitors. Chances are that it does, unless it's a really REALLY old card, or if you have integrated graphics.

I tried conencting my other screen but the other screens cord has 14 pins and the thing in the card has 16 pins so it doesn't work!!! fk
 
If Both monitors are VGA (the trapazoid shape) then u will need a DVI-VGA adapter, you can pick one up for usually under $10... now to work out where to plug them in::

-Follow cable u see on back of screen that goes to computator
-it will lead into the back of a horizontal adaptor thing,
-You will have at least 1 free, it may look like a Rectangle shape if its A DVI port
-If its Rectangle Shape, and your plug for your 2nd screen isn a rectangle shape then your going to need a DVI-VGA adapter.
-Turn Off Computer
-plug each screen into a port on that horzontal card thing first screen is plugged into
-Turn On computer
- Right click dectop, go to "settings" Tab
- Click the screen number 2
- choose either "use this as primary" or "extend my windowz desctop onto ...."

well I connected them now and the other screen works except it just shows my desktop and no icons or mouse button or anything. Just my desktop pic?
 
You can also mirror the image shown on one screen on the other, but personally, i find this pointless, it would be just the same as having the one screen, but u would feel double sighted.... i use one screen for music and the other for my work, your choice what u use them for.

I did that and it works.

Now another thing. Im watching south park videos and if I minimize the screen it doesn't play no more or if I open up another window or another tab?

I also don't have a taskbar with the star menu and all on my primary screen.

only one screen is meant to have a start bar and icons, or u can dragg icons over, watever u want.

Now about the Video. if your playing it on your "secondary" screen, then set it too "all ways on top" just so nothin interferes with it on that screen just as n idea, but you can only be playing the video on one screen at a time unless your mirroring the image. (having same picture on both screens)

Im still a lil confused though bc on the 2nd screen I just hooked up the internet pages open on that and limewire and msn and all and everything from my primary screen opens onto the 2nd one but I have the taskabr of the first with the msn and internet tabs and when I click them everything opens on the 2nd screen.But when I clicked the link that apj101 provided me it opened on my primary?

go into 'catalyst control centre'
you need to be in 'advanced settings' as im not sure how to do it in basic, but im sure you'll figure it out.
once in advanced go to 'displays manager'
right click on the picture of your primary screen and click 'extend primary to secondary' or something similar, and you should have your desktop extended to both screens now! if you are after both screens showing the same, click 'clone desktop' when you rightclick instead
