Interner Explorer Problem

IE 7.0 updated itself on my computer, it asked me if I wanted to install it so I thought i'd give it a try. When opening new pages I didn't like the way it kept the same page but just added a tab, so I changed the settings so that everytime I clicked a link, a new page would open instead of just a new tab.

Hope you're still with me...........

Anyways, I got fed up of IE 7.0 so I deleted it via add/remove and went back to IE 6.0. However now, when I type a web address in the toolbar and press enter, instead of going straight to the page - a new page opens up! I've tried looking for some setting to change it back but i'm a little stuck. Can anybody help? Cheers.

Are you talking about a new page apart from the one you wanted? Or a new browser window? As an example, you typed in www.yahoo.com and it popped up with www.google.com; etc..

Or, did you mean that when you press enter, a new window pops up with the page you wanted to go in it. Such as a link that opens in a new window.

Yes, the latter. If I type www.google.co.uk in my address bar then press enter, a new page opens, but it'd still be google.
