using tv and monitor

i seen some video cards that u can use two screens on using both for different stuff. i was wondering if u could hook up ur tv to your computer but only use it for videos and such? i dont think its possible but i thot i might ask
 
Yes, most video cards have the ability to show videos full screen on the TV, even if it's not full screen on your primary screen. It's called Theater Mode for ATI cards. For Nvidia, I beleive you have to rightclick the video, and select Play on my - TV
 
I believe if your playing in windows Media Player, you hook the tv up to graphics card via S-Video Cable, and just drag what ever your using to play the video onto the tv and double click thus making it full screen, also good idea to select "always on top" so u dont accidently minimise it
 
ati cards have a setting to automatically send video overlay to the tv

any video playing on your monitor will automatically be full screen on the tv

and it looks much much better than simply using the tv as a monitor, and doing a full-screen video on it

I have done it, but in the past. I know it's possible.
 
wow.. the title is similar as my question.... i should ask here

my family want to use TV as monitor... how to do that? can anyone link and list me the supplies i need?
 
thanks guy that worked great the only thing i odnt like is that after playing a video the windows still stays on the screen when im trying to watch cable but illl work out somthing .
