I want to install 3 different OSes on my 60GB HD. How should I partition this 60GB to efficiently accomodate Windows Vista, XP Home, Linus (preferably Suse Linux) from this 60GB? (Meaning, how much of this 60GB should I assign to each of those OSes?)

Well Vista takes up about 10GB with just the OS, Windows XP take up about 3GB, and im not sure about Linux.

To be safe, I would do 25GB for Vista, 20GB for XP, and 15GB for Linux.

I would suggest u purchace another 60 gb, Then you can have 50gb For Vista, 40Gb for XP and 30Gb For Linux, All though i dont think u should need that much for linux...

How do you do partion your HD? We use Linux a little at school, and i wanted to try it and learn it, but i want to be able to switch between windows and the linux app. Is there a way i can run it off a usb drive or something?

Yea, its like when they say a gig of ram, its really 1024. They are just rounding the binary form of the number.

it depends who they is. That's why HDD companies rip you off, they call a GB a billion, even though it isn't, so the actual capacity is much less.

What does the binary form of a billion have to do with anything?

1037341824 is the binary form, 1000000000 is just that number rounded and called a gigabyte. Likewise, 1024MB is the binary, 1 gig is that number rounded and called a gigabyte.

I think this is true, please correct me if i am wrong.
