Overclock a HD? lol

Is there a way to make a HD run faster? Like can you increase the speed of the drive or something?

no you can't but you can buy faster drives 10,000/15,000RPM

No you cant, it's a physical part.

I guess you could open it up and change the motor, but then most likely you would get corrupt data because the platters arent meant to be read that fast.

So in reality, no, you cant "overclock" a hard drive.

they do but they are expensive as hell, same as the 10,000RPM drives

The highest normal desktop hard drives go is 10K, but they make SCSI drives up to 15K, but those are more for servers which require very quick access to data, and high transfer rates. The drives and controllers are also very expensive.
