DVI or VGA

I have a Samsung TFT LCD monitor. Would the quality be noticeableif I switch to a videocard with DVI outs? I'm running the monitor in VGA now.

Some say they notice a difference, but I dont notice much (if any) difference between a VGA and DVI cable on my 19" or 22" LCD.

All I really care about it video playback quality. I'm trying to decide if a quadro NVS is worth keeping or if I should ugrade.

My current card is VGA ONLY, so I'm trying to determine if I upgrade to a better card with DVI outs, if it'll be worth it. So yea, I guess my question is now "Will I get better video/movie/tv tuner quality with a newer DVI card?"

Maybe. You could always get an X1900 All-in-wonder...

i've come to the conclusion that it depends largely on the monitor

some monitors do a decent job of converting the analog vga signal to digital, while some monitors have a pretty bad decrease in response when having to convert the signal

basically, by using dvi, you're eliminating the monitor's need to convert the signal to digital before it can be displayed, so you're ruling out one more piece of equipment between your computer and your display

if the video card you are using now does what you need, then dont get a new video card. wait till a new video card is needed in the future. i noticed pretty much no gain between my 19inch VGA to my 22 inch DVI.
