comparison

and i compared these 2 cards, the Radeon 9600Pro and the 9700Pro, the 9700's Core is at 325MHZ stock, and the Mem is at 310MHZ stock..

the 9600 Core is at 400MHZ stock, and the Mem is 300MHZ...

the 9600 has a higher Core clock, why is the 9700 better?

here's a link 2 the comparison....http://www.gpureview.com/show_cards.php?card1=75&card2=24...

i already put a bid on a 9600Pro on Ebay, what would u guys say should be the highest i go on that card?

Remember, JP... clocks arent everything. Look for PixelPipelines and whatnot.

i thought clocks ment if the card is good or not, thats what i look 4...

didnt know bout the pipelines and what not....

then i guess the 9700Pro is a pretty decent card...

not really.... and clocks aren't everything with computers in general... look at the celeron....

Also you should look into the 6600/9800 range...

You honestly should look at upgrading your RAM first, because trying to play games like BF2 with only 256MB of RAM is nearly impossible.

It's too late now, but you can buy a 256MB 9600XT on Newegg for $49. You should look around before buying on eBay. :)

oo well, thats the only place i buy my computer parts, just like it...

and im almost positive i got a 512MB stick 4 Christmas, and im gonna put a 256MB stick in with the 512, soo then i'll have 768MB....

i was on EA games and it said the recommended was 1.7GHZ processor and 512MB RAM...

soo even though they say the recommended RAM is 512, it still plays like shit with 1GB?

I wouldn't skimp on the graphics card. Those cards won't be able to play new games for very long, so I would buy a nice mid-end card that costs you more now but saves money in the long run. You will also get to enjoy the beutyfullness of a higher quality card :)
