This process (SVCHOST.EXE), as i understand is a process whice run dlls on my computer, is it possible that someone else is running dlls on my computer using this process?
i have this process in the task manager at least 5 tims, is it supposed to be like that?
my computer frequently goes very slow because of that...

how do I fix this problem?

thanks!:)

not much help but i have 5 on mine as well, 2 under system, 2 under network service, and one as local service

on my laptop this causes a problem for me as well whenever i connect to the net via dial up the svchost.exe under system with the 13,848K memory usage monopolizes the CPU

my plans to fix it are to do a complete reinstall of XP, but thats not my only problem lol

XP's background services are seen with network names themselves. Simply go into the control panel and open "Administrative Tools>services" and scroll down to the items that start with the letter N. Net Logon, NetMeeting Remote, Network Connections, Network DDE, Network DDE DSDM, etc.
