Be really grateful if a few people could help us on this one guys, this machines being built on my recommendation and it would be nice if we could prove a few people wrong that we had the right idea to go for a custom build instead of just heading off to dell :)

The system doesn't seem to want to boot from the windows disc at the moment which is a bit odd.

MB : have you hecked all the leads for the floppy drive, making sure that the data cabled is seated into the motherboard ok?

Or just disable the Floppy Drive in the bios and disconnect it from the computer. I'd try that first.

What are you trying to do, get it to boot to the XP CD and it wont, untill you boot to your XP cd and parition and format thats the message you will get because theres nothing on the harddrive!

Sometimes even when you have it booting to the cd, down at the botton of the screen it will say press any key to boot to the cd

really strange that it won't boot from CD. Does it attempt to boot from the CD at all? Any lights going or a pause or anything or does it just do nothing?

When it boots it has light on the dvd drive then goes off, also comes up on screen in big green letters DVDPIONEER111 or something like that.

you sure you got the jumpers on your hdd and dvd-drive set right? I remember this error countless times on some of my other computers, I can't remember how I got around it exactly but I think it was actually a hdd error that was causing it because the hard drive was conflicting with the optical

hdd are sata so shouldn't be an issue i don't think,

optical drive will be on a seperate IDE channel so should be ok

I'm curious as to if its actually attempting to boot from the CD at all, once it gets passed the post screen to the insert system disk screen can you do anythin at all?

Its at this stage the drive should spend at least a few seconds attempting to read the CD before asking again to insert the system disc

I would re check the bios to ensure that CD is set as first boot, if its still not having it can you borrow a friends windows CD for a moment. We aint gonna use it to install, just to simply see if it will try and boot from that one instead.

Theres good news ive SORTED it :) , the problem was in the BIOS i was setting the cd rom option to boot 1st and HD 2nd when i should of set the 1stto PIONEER111D, Cheers for the time and help you put in everyone

Jimmy cheers m8y for pointing me to this site for extra help :)

Ok ive hit another problem now, the sys fan is running at 835 rpm and the cpu at 1600 rpm, is this to slow and is there anyway i can alter it? ive check speed using speedfan 4.31 and it says they both on 100%.
