optimum working temp E6400 core 2 duo ?

can anyone advise what the optimum working temp should be on a E6400 core 2 duo cpu, i have one in my system and my temp is showing as 28deg c for cpu and 26deg c for system temp, is this good or bad ?

Thats a good temp, but what program are you using? The best way to find the temp is to use Intel TAT. I've found that my BIOS reports a temp of around 36C, however Intel TAT actually reports a temp of around 48C.

This download don't work for me. It takes me to the page but when i click on site to download it, It says page cannot be displayed. Anybody else getting the same thing?

Thats odd, I know it worked for me in the past.

I would try a quick google search and see if you can find it, it's a really great program.

The link works now. They must have realized that it didn't work and fixed it. Try it now.

however, this program will only work with Pentium M processors. i run it and get invalid processor.

CPU 24oC
SYSTEM 26oC "USING PC PROBE 2"

(using msn and downloading 3 large files)

i have an exhaust from side of case which is directly over cpu fan so cpu is getting a direct feed of cold air all time

i did also manage to fit a fan on exhaust too so its getting forced air

kinda over the top but keeps the temps down

usualy 21oC when idle

Those are great temps, no worries.

It only works with the Core 2 Duo CPU's. I use it and it works fine.

Try speedfan!
Speedfan isnt the most accurate monitor. When it works, Intel TAT is the most accurate, even more accurate then the BIOS.

How can it be more accurate than the BIOS?

How can it be more accurate than the BIOS?

Intel TAT reads the temperature diode built into the CPU core(s) themselves, whereas the BIOS and most Windows-Based apps read the temperature diode which is on the motherboard, usually located between the CPU, socket, and motherboard.
