Laptop sound card questions

I got a 50 dollar best buy giftcard and im planning on buying a soundcard for the laptop in my sig.

The soundcard is made by creative and goes into my PC port on the laptop.

My question is, will all the interfearance that i normally hear through my usb headset go away if i start using the soundcard?

A USB headset works though the USB port. It's totally separate from the onboard soundcard. Besides, a new sound card won't play though the laptop's speakers or anything like that. It's totally separate.

i know, i dont use the laptop speakers anyways, looks like im gonna have to go back to my plantronics headset so i can use it with the soundcard.
