USB vs. ps/2?

Fed up with my wireless keyboard.

It's the one that was supplied with my computer, it's a wireless HP keyboard, i spilled something in it, and the enter key sticks, the thing has nothing in the way of a battery meter, so i never know when it's going to die on me, and sometimes it just does weird stuff

i'm going wired, baby

wondering if there's any advantage to going back to a ps/2 port vs. a usb port?

speed/system resource useage/any difference at all?

From my past experiences, PS/2 tends to be the better interface. Honestly, why fix something that's working just fine. Unless you have some little LCD on the keyboard or many extra keys, PS/2 works fine.

I tried a USB keyboard once, but the arrow keys kept messing up(you know, when you press more than one at once) Basically, in Need For Speed Most Wanted, I couldn't turn while using nitro :P I know there's the same problem with PS/2, but not nearly as bad... Perhaps there are better keyboards out there than what I tried. I certainly hope there are...
 
ya, my keyboard is just buggy, i'll deal with a cord for better response, the farthest i ever need to move it is to my lap for lazy late night web surfing

i'm staying cordless and usb with my mouse for now. the selection of usb mice is slim, and i love my logitech
 
USB keyboards are fine for me so far.. its just they can have the issue of not working in the BIOS, or in the DOS-like screen before you start windows.

but else,.. i've never had trouble with my USB keyboard... I wouldnt mind if it was PS2 tough,.. i dont think for a keyboard it matters much.
 
I use PS/2 because I just feel like it... and I heard that with USB and overclocking you can crash because the USB ports can get too far overclocked so you can disable them...

and cause I haven't gotten my new mouse and keyboard yet

Yeah, without having a USB driver in the BIOS, the keyboards pretty much useless, that's why I keep a PS/2 keyboard. Actually, I find no reason for USB since you can unplug and plug it back in without having to restart unlike a PS/2 mouse...

I can do that fine with my PS/2 stuff, only reason I'd have to restart is if I didn't boot with it plugged in
