Hey guys,

I need some help with a computer build. I'm about to start ordering parts and I wanted to know if they were compatible, or if they are not a good idea to get or if maybe you know of a better deal.

The computers main use is gaming, I would also like to be able to listen to my own music while I game, so I would need it to be able to multitask pretty well

I'm not exactly rich so The final price needs to be anywere between $400.00-$800.00

Thank you

Here are a list of the parts I was thinking of getting:

Motherboard:

Please keep in mind that I am open to ANY sudgestions.
Thank you

The GPU won't work in the top motherboard because it has no PCI-E slot, the ram wont run at full speed either.
The CPU wont fit in that socket so it wouldn't be a good idea to get that motherboard!
Whic motherboard do you want?

That motherboard is fine except the ram would only be running at DDR2 533 speed. If you get that motherboard change your ram to DDR2 533 instead.

ok, you can do a ton better for $800 bucks with a Core 2 Duo which is the new standard and better than an AMD in every category

here is a Core 2 Duo Gaming Build that is very awesome and it actually fits your budget:

CPU - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16819115005 - $191.00
RAM – http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820161067 - $99.99
Mobo - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813138037 - $104.99
GPU - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814143071 - $259.99
HDD - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16822144415 - $52.99
Case - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16811119068 - $49.99
PSU - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817182017 - $54.99

Total - $814

This is probably the best way to go and is very balanced.

Change out the RAM, at least a high quality 1GB set. Really, the RAM should be upped to 2GB and the video card dropped to an X1950Pro or 7900GS. I would also recommend the XClio PSU instead of the Rosewill.

Another way to get more headroom is to get this Case/PSU set:

As far as the price goes, it almost seems like he wants to spend $400-$800 on just the CPU, Motherboard, RAM, Video card, Soundcard, and PSU, as the parts he linked were nearly $800.
