Games freeze and sound loops

My pc is fine, good spec and is capble of playing games, however sometimes during games it will freeze and the sound will loop. At first I thought maybe it was my connection but it does it offline also. I do wonder if its my sound card as it is only a sound blaster live, not very new but still capable of playing the games. As you would guess it gets annoying after a while so please help :) thank you

What about your graphics card?

With xfire, ventrillo and the game battlefield 2142 running for 20minutes, my temperatures were:

Speedfan:
CPU usage = 8% - 48%
temp1 = -48
temp2 = 44
temp3 = 36
local = 57
remote = 84
temp = 1
hd0 = 51
hd1 = 50
temp1 = 45

Ati tool - Graphics card:
GPU temp = 67
Temperature of temp. chip = 58

Sum1 please help, its really frustrating me :(

I read somewhere that it can be related to soundblaster cards....... Should I buy a new 1? anyone know wats causing it to freeze otherwise?

I would say that the temperatures for your graphics card are quite high indeed. Make sure that the fan/cooler on the graphics card isn't clogged up with dust or anything first off. A friend of mine have similar issues with temps being that high on his card and it turned out to be a ball of dust blocking his g.card vent. What are your graphics card temps when idle before playing games?
