The sad thing is that this guy is going to return it to the store for a new one and the store is going to put it back on the shelf. Then some unsuspecting person is going to purchase it and be pissed off that it doesn't work.
This is kind of offtopic... but I'll post it anyway.
For XMAS, I got a Weber Q 220 grill and a lot of accessories. I live in an apartment and don't have a lot of space for a large grill. Plus, the portablility of the grill is nice since I'm always going on trips and camping.
Anyway, the grill has two plastic work tables that fold in over the grill plate for storage. Some idiot purchased the grill, used it and then folded over the plastic plates over the hot grill plate and it melted all over the grill plate. (The accompaning paperwork warns you on the front of the book and a couple of times after you open it not to do this. Not to mention that common sense tells you that if you put plastic over fire, or something exteremly hot, it is going to melt. There is a little sticker on the plastic tables warning you not to fold them in until the grill was cool too!)
They then went and purchased another grill and put the damaged one in the box and returned it back to the store. The store didn't check the grill, but simply put it back on the shelf. (Thanks Home Depot!) I was the one to receive the damaged grill.
The worst part about it was the grill was purchased back in the beginning of October and I didn't receive it until XMAS. When I opened it to assemble it on XMAS night, I was surprised to find the damaged grill. Not to mention that the person who purchased it for me had misplaced the receipt.
I took it back to Home Depot and they accused ME of damaging the grill and I had to argue with the manager for almost 30 minutes for me to return it. He wanted me to call Weber and order the parts to fix it. I was so pissed! After a while of arguing, I told him I'm going to get a new one and I was leaving the store with the new one and he was keeping the damaged one. If he wanted to call security or the police, fine.
I walked to the back of the store, picked up my new grill and walked out. I'm never going back to that fscking store again... IDIOTS.
