I bought a 24 pin PSU for a mobo that has 20 pin will it work.
Sure will. Is it a 24 Pin, or a 20+/-4 Pin (difference being that one has removable 4 pins).
If it doesnt have the extra 4-Pins removable, you will simply have part of the connector off, but it's perfectly fine. The only thing you may run into is that there is a part blocking it so you wouldnt be able to fit a 24-Pin there, but otherwise it will work fine.
