unable to turn on show hidden files and folders

hi all,
im a window xp service pack 2 user.
recently i jz format my computer. since then i found that im unable to view hidden files and folders in my computer.

i try this setting many times>>>>>folder options>view>"show hidden files and folder">apply >ok.
but somehow it automatically turns back to "do not show hidden files and folders'' every time :(

any kindhearted experts pls help me ,ths for advandce :P
 
never heard that:
the best choice: repair your windows xp, it takes 30min. then your pc its lot faster.
2: sure that you dont have any virus, spy...?

1.i repaired my windows xp
2.then i ran a full system scan using AVG antivirus 7.5,it found out some trojans and viruses,but after deleting those malicious stuffs,the problem still remain unsolved:(

so any other possible ways besides reformat my OS?:confused:
 
Your pc just seems really infected then. Since you said you just formatted and did a system scan, then it found a couple trojans already? How did you go about doing your format?

I simply formatted C drive where my OS stored and then ran a full system scan with AVG antivirus(trial edition),it did find out a couple trojans and AVG help me healed/deleted the infected files already.

So is it possible tat the system file need to "show hidden files and folders" has been deleted that make me cant turn on this option?

I tried repair my OS but it doesnt work,so wat else i can do?The only way is to format my OS again?
