so i bought a couple of new components today:
amd athlon 64 3200+
1 gb 667mhz ddr2 ram
ecs k8m890m-m motherboard
geforce 7600gt video
hooked everything up exactly how it's supposed to be hooked up and everything powered up, but the monitor said "no response" and nothing happened. i changed several things and the problem continued to persist. i could not hear a post beep code because this motherboard apparently has no place to hook up the internal speaker to hear the post code.
irritated, i half-assed put my old computer together and it works like a charm. all the power cords as well as the hd/cd-rom cords were exactly as they were before, just on a different mobo. i have no idea what the problem was, and no sound or display does not help.
i tried the onboard video as well as the geforce and neither worked.
please give me your opinion as to what the problem could be attributed to.
