OK, I OC my CPU E6300 to 2.84GHz very nicely, but then why are my FPS in games reduce by a ton? Hmm...any ideas?
 
What are the temps like during or after the games?

And what else did you lower? If you set the RAM to very low speeds, or other settings below stock, then that may be causing your loss in performance.
 
So did those settings I posted make a difference ADE? Or did you have to do something else?

Can I have the link to your RAM please?
 
Well, I took it little by litltle only 14MHz at a time. Very stable and only 4 digrees hotter than on stock speeds. What I think it is is that when I didnt know having auto for the voltage was bad, I revamped the process and also kept the speed to 800Mhz or a little less. But when I had it on auto, it was set on 1000Mhz! My gues is that the bandwith of the GPU (GDDR runs at 1.55GHz) was more utilized there for better FPS. Do you think it is that?

Why would it be 'more utilized' when you weren't overclocking? It doesn't make sense to me...

And once again, can I have a link to your RAM please? So I can see the specs...?

I did OC before but at the time I didnt lower the memorie multiplyer back to 800MHz or lower so at the time it was set at 1000MHz +. I supprised the Ram could even bottleneck at that setting.

Well, you weren't giving it more voltage, so what do you expect? Overlocking your RAM by 25% would normally mean you should add .1 volts to it (so, in this case, you should set it at +0.2v, since your RAM's default voltage is 1.9, and you have it at 1000Mhz)...

Anyway, if you set your FSB to 400, and make the memory multi 2.0, you should have your RAM running at 800Mhz (stock)...

I still don't understand what the problem could be.
 
I never OC the RAM, the FSB is at 1000MHz and RAM still at 800MHz, so I just thought that the Graphics card may have utilized this adding prefromance. I thought it might but then I raised the FSB from the now 800MHz a little more and then again for a few times and I found that it when adding speed to the FSB it decreases preformance. I'm stumped. Before it was 30FPS MIN, 56 AVG, 125 MAX, On F.E.A.R. and now its 26 MIN, 36 AGV, 84 MAX. I just dont get it...any help would be apprisiated.

Edit- also, I think the Northbrdge Chipset may be getting hot after all this so I would like to know if using Arctic silver 5 on woud would help it stay cooler apposed to having to buy a fan for it. It has the clips to hold it in place so staying on is not a problum.

OK, so my MOBO has default of 1.8V for RAM. My RAM runs at 1.9V. Should I just raise it .1V more just to match it up?
 
WAIT! I JUST NOTICED SOMETHING! When I had the old BIOS it ran like a dream graphic-wise, but then AFTER i installed the new BIOS it ran slower graphic-wise...Could this be a connection to my problum?

Well downgrade the BIOS then, if you want... Not that I would suggest it, but if you seem to think it was the upgrade of the BIOS - download the version that came on it when you bought it, and use that one instead.
 
How? I dont remember which one it is! I think i backed it up although...I will try it. I was thinkig of it myself but was reluctant to do it because the whole point of the computer was to OC the CPU...
 
OK, well, I just contacted Gigabyte through E-mail and I hope they of all people can help. Still, any more suggestions would be nice. When I went to download the BIOS there were 3 options. I chose the latist one, although those dates were very close, some one the same and one was 1 day behind. I just chose the top one because 1. I thought it was the latest version, 2. because the other ones description didnt exactly fit my situation as well as the one I chose.
 
Nope it wasn't the BIOS. I have another idea though, could it be that I need to update the "VGA BIOS" would that matter and if so how?
