I'm just putting that out as a price comparison and I'm in canada and I just shipped to someone in the U.S. and then reshipped it to myself.

Yeah, things cost a lot more over here, but i'd still look into a C2D based build. If you haven't discovered it yet, www.staticice.com.au is a great site that lets you search for the best prices on pretty much any computer component.

And no, newegg doesn't ship to Australia.

Not a bad machine, if I were you though, I would go with Intel's Duo Core. AMD just cant keep up with the Duo Core right now.

Core 2 Duo

Thanks guys,

If I switch over to an Intel C2D system, that means I would have to change basically everything, right...??? I looked at the C2D's on Tiger Direct, and they were all more expensive...

Nyone know a C2D processor that is better or the same for the same price. Also, if I bought this processor, id need new ram and motherboard for around the same price, any recommendations??

Thanks.

You'd need to change the mobo, but you can keep that RAM. You haven't said how much each component costs individually, but the cheapest Core 2 Duo processor is the E6300. It shouldn't be more expensive than the 4600+.
