breaking in a computer

when you guys build a computer from scratch, is there any sort of turning your unit off/on for the first few weeks going on in order to break the computer in? i've heard different views on this, and didn't know if it was necessary.

my computer has been on for about the last 3 days since it was built, and i think i turned it off for about 12 hours one night. the cpu is currently running at about 114 degrees on stock thermal paste. just curious as to the opinions.
 
Nothing really...the thermal pad will take a couple of weeks to "set," but there's not really much you can do about that...

Wnen you say 114º, is that celsius fahrenheit?

that was fahrenheit. let's switch to celsius before everyone gets real confused.

it was running at 45 celsius, but that was immediately after i played far cry for about 30 minutes.

it's down to 38 celsius now that i've not been playing for about 30 minutes.

all realtive to the cooling system you have, normal non exotic cooling will get you to around mid low 30's. You dont want to be touching 70's under full load

well i have 2 intake fans at the bottom front, 2 exhaling fans at the top under the PSU, one on the front side inhaling, and then two on the PSU and obviously one on the CPU. the MB just has a heatsink. the video card also has one. i wonder why i'm not getting mid-low 30s?

speedfan shows my cpu temp at 38 while the BIOS shows it as 44. which is more reliable?
 
computer appears to run faster the long you run and play around with it since stuff loads to memory already :) this is not always the case though especially if you have heat issues :)
