Temps and A64 3800+

Hey guys,

I recently got a new Athlon 64 3800+ SKT939. At stock speeds, the idle is around 38*C and MAX I've seen is 45*C. Would you consider those temps ok considering I installed a Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 Pro?

And also I would like to hear your recommended max temp if I decide to overclock it. According to the AMD site to which my CPU links to (above), MAX temps are 49 - 71*C, would you agree? Or is AMD overexagerating, like 60*C is near death, lol

thanks!

that's not that bad, but your idle seems a bit on the high side, you probably don't have really good ventilation in your case, that's all.

Those temps seem to be the norm with sckt 939 AMD 64s, at least compared to mine. My 3500+ with a zalman cnps7700 at stock speeds has a idle temp of about 33C and a load of 42C. With ocing about 20%, I have an idle temp of 37C and a load of about 48C. The max I've seen is 60C with the fan speed on low, which was by accident.
