System Process using alot of CPU

I never really noticed this anytime before, but all of the sudden my "system" process has been using my CPU alot. Does anybody know the cause of this? It is really making me mad because it's using the CPU when my system is supposed to be idle. This makes the CPU hot and the fans get louder as the RPMs fly up.

If you are talking about the "system idle process" that should be seen at 99% to 100% when you have nothing loaded. That is the normal percentage seen in the task manager.

No I am not talking about that process, which I am aware of already. I am talking about a process called "system".

Do you mean this process?

Ya that's the one. I suppose I should have posted a screenshot.

Most of the time it uses between 0% and 5%, but other times it uses around 30-50% and does so for several minutes. I am just trying to figure out why because it's a real annoyance.

What are you doing at the time this is seen? When you first open Windows Explorer here with more then one hard drive the supply is tapped as power is drawn and fans speed up. Something there is pulling power there for some reason like browsing drives.
