If I have two 7200rpm hard drives, would it make a program run faster or slower if I install it on the second drive? What If my main drive that windows is installed on is IDE Maxtor 6E040L0 and my second drive is SATA Western digital WD1600JD-55HBB0...

you could see a small boost in performance, depending on the drives and the amount of data under consideration

Cool... as long as it doesn't hurt performance then im ok with it. The main problem I'm having is that there is one file in a game (world of warcraft) thats almost 4GB, and I dont have enough room on drive c to properly defragment it, its in about 14 different pieces.... plus the game in general taking up a lot of room on drive c anyhow (6gb) and then diablo 2 takes 2gb, etc.... plenty of room on the second drive, not so much on the first....

I had a pc with a C drive of 4.3GB and a D drive of 20GB. I wanted to install Blade Runner but the C drive was almost full. I put a Program Files folder on D, and when the game install asked where I wanted to put the files I chose D:\Program Files. No problem. The game worked just fine.

I've done the same with by accident with programs and never had a problem using them.
