Please help me on my decision.

You wouldnt notice a significant performance increase at all. I would stay with your current card and save a few more hundred to get a DX10 card. Spending that kinda money on a new DX9 card would be pointless since DX10 is right around the corner.

thanx. well i actually dont have any card yet. the "current" one i had posted was just the one i was going to buy. but i think ill lower my case and ram so i can afford the geforce 8800;) ;)

woa. Wait. So you havent built the computer yet? Ok, the graphics card is certainly very important, however the ram and case is as important. In order for that 8800 to perform at its best your gonna need at the very leats 1gb of dual channel ram, 2gb recommended. Not only that, its gonna need some good cooling, and you will want a big enough case to store that beast in. Remember, the 8800 cards are way bigger then the previous 7800 and 7900 cards by far. These things are GIANT MONSTERS FROM OUTERSPACE!!!!

Honestly, i wouldnt spend that much money on a DX9 card. They really arnt worth it since in a few months or so DX10 games will be releasing, im not sure when but it will be soon. Even budget 8 series cards are coming out. Id save for a DX10 card if i was you.....

But if you really must have a good card, go with the 7900GS. You wouldnt see a huge difference in gaming between those cards. Benchmarks yes, but in actual gaming they should all get great fps at high graphic settings with todays current games.

That 7900GS actually looks very pretty......i might have to get one after i upgrade my psu.....i dont do a whole lot of gaming on my computer anymore, but when i do game i like my graphics. $189 doesnt seem bad at all for that card.

I recommend to wait for 8600ultra which is going to be released on Feb or March.

But If you really need to buy a video card now, then get 7900GS
