new PC! what to expect?

well im got my new parts today, i havnt opend anything, but dont I have to clear my old hardrive of everything? how do I do that?

i just built my computer four days ago, so easy and awesome.

you can put in in your new PC and format it, which will clear everything and then you install the OS

but the hardrive will work when connected i'll just have to clear it somehow

yeah, thats correct

when you do a clean XP install it clears all anyway

Connect everything up, and when you boot (with the Windows CD in your Optical Drive), you just have to go through the steps. Just make sure to choose "Full Format", not "Quick Format".
