When I try to open the syllabus for an online course at my college, a word perfect 12 icon pops up and says it can't convert, read text only.....how do I fix this so I can actually open and read the given assignments?

I have word perfect 12 and the professor uses MS word (2003). I'm guessing there is a problem with conversion from MS word to word perfect 12, anyone know how to fix this??

you probably need a copy of word. A lot of colleges provide this if you request it. Otherwise your professor would have to save the file as a backwards compatible to word perfect or a plain text file. Word docs are considered to be rich text files and support html, php, and other various things normal text editors do not.

If you can't get a hold of a copy do not fear, there is an open source office project called open office and star office
