And if so when are they going to be released? I'm thinking I'll get a 7300GS to hold me off till they release the 8600, but is it for sure that they'll launch at $130? Because I can't afford $200 or something like that.

Not sure about the release of the 8600 but DO NOT get the 7300 to "hold you off" that is just an outright waste of money if you plan on gaming at all. Get at least the 7600GT, that will suit you just fine for now.

Or if you want a cheap PCI-E card to hold you over, go with an X or 6 series, such as the x700PRO for $50, which performs so much better then the 7300, and is cheaper.

Nvidia stated they were going to release Q1 of 07 which is Jan, Feb, and March. Jan is almost over so you're left with only 2 options. Price no idea.

A member here and at another forum posted a chart which showed the prices, I dont know for sure what they are going to charge, but that should be in the ballpark range.

In wikipedia it says that it is gonna be released in Feb.
In dailytech it says that it is gonna be released before ATI releases R600.
R600 will be released at late Q1 2007.

I dont know bout that. Mine was only $70 at best buy and its done pretty decent for gaming taking into consideration its crappy 64-bit memory. But it can game pretty good. Plays CSS maxed with 2xAA and 16xAF at 1280x960 smooth. I dont have very many demanding games on my computer anymore as i havent been gaming that often, but it will play Carbon at medium settings at 1024x768 smooth without AA and 16xAF, plays NFSMW maxed at 800x600 with 2xAA 16xAF and medium-high at 1024x768 2xAA and 16xAF.
All around decent card for the money i think. However the 8 series is gonna blow it away. Cant wait to pick up mine!
Oh forgot to mention, thats running the card OCed lol. 650mhz/1.4ghz(new 93 drivers say that)
