New System: Compatibility Check Required

Hello, I'm planning to build a new system and would like to know what you think of this setup:

CPU: Intel® Core 2 Duo E6600 (Boxed, FC-LGA4, "Conroe")
MAINBOARD: GigaByte 965P-DS4 (Sound, Gigabit-LAN, SATA II RAID)
RAM: OCZ DIMM 2 GB DDR2-800 Kit (Retail, OCZ2P800R22GK, XTC Platinum)
HDD: Western Digital WD2500KS (Caviar Special Edition)
GPU: PowerColor RX1950PRO XTREME (Retail, 2x DVI, TV-Out, Video-In)
CASE: A+ CS-Twin Engine SM Black
PSU: Enermax Liberty (2x PCIe)

This is going to be a "part time" gaming computer but will be mainly used for design applications and maybe video editing in near future. I'm open for suggestions if you think that the one or the other part doesn't fit well. I'm also not planning to overclock this system.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions and help.

try a 7950GT for your GPU if you cant push an 8800, especially for video editing

also try Corsair RAM and for the mobo do you mean DS3? or DQ6?

other than that it is all compatible, those are just some suggestions

Thanks for your reply. I have checked on the GPU you suggested but it's a bit over my budget and I'm not going to do professional video editing anyway. I bet we will learn only the basics at school and the ATI should do fine.

Hmm, about the RAM.. Corsair (2048MB Corsair PC2-800 CL5 KIT TWIN2X2048-6400) was in my original setup but I was told to go for cheaper ones since I won't overclock anyway. Isn't OCZ any good as a RAM brand? I have to admit that I have no idea about those timings (4 4 4 15 on the OCZ ones I listed, and 5 5 5 12 for the Corsair.)

For the mobo, its DS4. I'm not sure if it has something to do that I looked it up in a German shop (since I'm from Germany). I was suggested to go for that one and I found a quite good review for it. The mobo is the worst part to choose.. there are so many different brands and models. All I know is that it should obviously support the CPU I want, SATA II, LAN, soundchip and RAID and run stable. :)

If you aren't overclocking you don't really need the 800Mhz RAM, you could step down to 667Mhz say. As joeswm8 said OCZ is good ram.
Yes the 7900GS is probably a good budget card at this stage, if your looking to save for a dx10 card.
