How much of a bottleneck with my CPU be?

I've been stashing away money for a new GPU ever since I got the one I have now (7800 GT), and I'm ready to move on to bigger and better things. But, when running current and future games, I'm a bit concerned with my CPU not being able to keep up (x2 3800+). I won't OC it, so outside of getting a new CPU, I'm stuck. Are my games going to be slowed down by my CPU, and if so, by how much?

Your current system should be able to play new on high settings to this day.

The CPU has a big affect on the FPS in games, If you really feel the need to upgrade your system with out overclocking it I would look for a better CPU/mobo rather than a better graphics card.

But if I where you I`d just save your money.

The 7800 GT is an old card (sorta) - you really think it'll be able to play Crysis and Supreme Commander on at least 1024x768 at a non-choppy frame-rate? If so, I'll definately save my money...

LOL, That isnt a old card and yes I think you should be able to play games coming out with that card...

Maybe not on super high res but should be more than good enough

Frame rate is mainly down to the CPU, so if your gonna upgrade anything I would look at that :)

....Frame rate is definitely mostly down to the graphics card
CPU only matters a bit when the resolutions are low.

EDIT: AND YES, THE 7800GT IS AN OLD CARD!! Save some more and get a 8600 when it comes out or the lessened 8800GTS.
I'd have to say the X2 will be fine, although bottlenecking will occur, if you play at high resolution (1280x1024 or higher), then you won't see much of a difference from the CPU when playing games.
