Im pretty sure the X6800 can beat the Celeron as they are worse then the P4s, but im not sure about that P4....7ghz is alot.

In sheer clock speed? Probably not, but in performance probably, they have a Core 2 clocked at 5.5GHz, it probably beats the benchmark scores of both.

Actually frequency performance scaling netburst (specifically prescott) is incredible. Clock for clock over about 3GHz prescott (P4E/S775 P4) gains more performance than northwood (P4A/B/C).

i would try to overclock my old prescott but it is already hot as it is right now lol probably wont go pass the 4ghz mark even with zalman 9500....

I read somewhere that AMD FX62 performs equally to Pentium D 5.2GHz

So, the X6800 should perform equally to about Pentium D 6.0GHz. Pentium D is dual core processor, not single core like Pentium 4. So, in multi-threaded applications the X6800 at stock should perform much better than Pentium 4 7.8GHz
