ok practally in the title so i jst want a single core what do u guys recremend(sry bad at spelling)i know that intel has better duel cores for price and performance but what bout old school single cores for price and performace is AMD better or intels? and any recemendations.. of cpus, i want a single core because i ll only be using it for games not so much muilty tasking and so if i have 1 good core it ll be better than haveing 2 ok cores unless its got muilty threading or like the game supports it. so if i wanted a duel core for gaming it ll have 2 be like a pretty expensive one if u guys get what im trying 2 say here

no real budget set on .. kinda just the cheapest but good cpu u know maybe if i had 2 set a budget on then like say 300 at most cause if i wanted 2 spend more i ll jst have 2 work anther week and save like 200 and i ll have 2 hundred more but generally i jst want like a cheap but not 2 cheap cpu that ll do the job so i was thinking single core cause prices are droping and they do the job if u dont need 2 muiltytask if u get what i mean more prob like top of the line single cores.

heres like what im trying 2 say if i spend say 300(i havent really looked into market prices so jst pretend ok about the sums)on a P4 3.2ghz or a amd 4000+ it ll be better than if i spent like 300 on a duel core 2.2 ghz cause i wont benifit form both core unless the game supports it and i ll prob only use it for warcraft and stuff so .. yea

Without a budget it is difficult to recommend a "cheap but good processor." A difference of 50 or 150 can mean a large jump in processing power.

Most of the new games today can utilize two cores.

If you have $300 to spend on a CPU then get Core 2 duo E6400. E6400 cost less than $300 and it can beat any Pentium 4 or AMD 4000+ in any game (even if the game doesn't utilize 2 cores)

dude, for 80 dollars u can get a dual core Pentium D that will far outperform any single core processor. thats about the same price of a pentium 4 single core

If its a Pentium D vs a Pentium 4, then thats a no brainer. But the Athlon 64 series is still a better performer in games then the Pentium D.
