Free Antivirus for windows

Hello,

I have recenrly installed Vista, and i used to use AVG antivirus, but this is not compatable with vista.

I was just wondering if anyone can recommend good and free antivirus software that will work with vista?

My windows security cenre is currently telling me i have no virus protection on my computer, only windows defender to counteract spyware.
 
Avast rocks! I have had a few scares from downloading files off of limewire and avast came through in spades, keep information free!

I have no antivirus on my computer how do i get a free antivirus?
im on a AMD Athlon 64 msi motherboard 1 gb ram 2 hdd.
one is a 400gb sata linux, the other is a 320 gb ide win px pro.
nvidia5500 256ram fx , 21 inch crt monitor duel dvd-rw drives with lightscribe.
520 watt ps.

omh man all you have to do is search google for that.

Theres a few free antiviruses in the link in my siggy below;)

The freeware list.
