hello, I just bought a brand new Intel DG965WHMKR and after installing service pack 2 my usb drivers stopped recognizing removable drives but they still recognize my keyboard and mouse. I searched on the internet and microsoft said they have some sort of patch but you have to call them which costs $99  ! Does anyone know how to fix this? Also my other problem is when I shut down my computer all my monitors and drives shutdown but my fans keep running...what could be the problem? Thanks

I have the same board and it is a good board, don't get me wrong. But, it is very sensitive(picky) about everything. I don't see why it did that, explain your whole process of your building and programs installed.
What kind of OS are you installing, Windows XP SP2b, right? That sounds so weird, there is something in the Device Manager. Go check that right away and try to find your USB root driver and 2.0, verify that that is present and enabled. There is some way to toggle the USB drives on and off.

I would go and redo my Windows, if there isn't too much to do.

intel

I was using it as a recording computer so I didn't want to connect to the the internet but now that I did that and ran updates it seems to be running fine. It could have been an older driver I had downloaded but thanks for your quick reply.
