Help getting rid of a dodgy file!!! :(

i downloaded a dodgy file off limewire and its causing random adverts to pop up while im connected to the net, and its a real pain when im trying to play online games. Ive tried adware but the file keeps making more and more adware and i cant get rid of this file thats creating them. ive tried spybot/avg aswell and ive deleted all my cookies.

(yes i did delete the incorrect file i d/ld)

WTF? :( :( :( :( :( :confused:
 
Try going back to a restore point before you downloaded the file and also try looking for anything that has been installed without you knowing it...

When you say you've tried "adware" do you mean you've tried using adaware SE. If you haven't i would give it try, you can download it here for free: http://www.download.com/3000-2144-10045910.html

next time you download something from limewire make sure you do a quick virus scan on the file you've just downloaded, quite often hackers disguise adware as something else like a music file etc.

yeh thats what i meant, SE. but yeh il try scanning files i d/l from now on, thanks
 
plus dont use limewire in future.

try something else in future, i used to use it until i ended up with the same prob-it just keeps happenin and happenin......

get zone alarms :)
 
Try scanning in safe mode mate,if you use system restore the virus whatever, may reside in the saved restore points.
